About us: History Winding Stair of Stone Est. 2006Robinson’s Landscaping and Nursery, Inc. is a family owned business started in 1988 in Boyne City. As early as the spring of 1984 and just out of high school Charles, the owner, bought his first plant liners to begin growing nursery stock. Charles attended Michigan State University to pursue a bachelors degree in landscape horticulture where he graduated in 1988 at top of his class in the college of Agriculture and second in the 1988 graduating class at MSU. With the purchase of 20 acres in 1988, additional shrubs, perennials and trees were added to the growing inventory. Currently, with over 30 acres in production Robinson’s grows a wide variety of quality plant stock that include shade and flowering trees, evergreens, shrubs, perennials and ornamental grasses which can compliment any landscape site. The company’s first employee was Charles’ brother Galen who, as crew foreman, is still a vital part of the company. Kyle, another key employee, has been with Robinsons since 1996 and attended Michigan State University to earn a degree in Landscape Architecture and certification in landscape/nursery management.
